Rick G asked: "it seams to me they stand to make a killing in the industry. they have a name that most people reconize and in the world of SPL drags i think they would be right at home. thier professional series stuff has sensitivities of 105db. they have long been the authoritive speaker maker with the "in your face" style; would this not fit the car audio world of today perfectly? there are so many people looking for the loudest and the hardest hitting, it stands to reason to me that klipch if they choose to could come in and very respectfully take a large market share, so why haven't they?
not sure i would like thier mid-highs in a car, maybe a bit too harsh and too directional (horns?), but i'd love to see some subs / and midbass by them.
interesting facts about thier history and reasoning for not entering car audio, and i see the point about where car audio is heading, its becoming cool to have quantity without the quality, and that really is not the klipch buisness model..
Thanks Haro_bikes... for the extra effort.. I think it's a crock that they dont want to expand though, i mena they make pc speakers.... and did very well..
Klipch makes inwall speakers...how much different is a car speaker really? I think they just dont know how to fit that horn in a car..."

the only thing i can think of is there doing so well in home audio, that car audio just isnt worth the risk.
but i wish they would. i probably wouldnt trade in my bostons, but i might add some 8" mid/low drivers."
conejote_99 replied: "I was at their both in CES this year and i didn't ask this question but in the conversation that we have it came up,
that they didn't want to go to the car audio again i didn't know but there was car woofers in the late 80's and it didn't work for them,
one of the reps told me that the kids from the 80,90 now spend the money in bigger homes and nice home theater systems they don't put the big money in cars anymore
and the new generation that are in to car audio don't have that
kind of money anymore like 20 years ago
you have to see some of their woofers in person their are incredible one woofer sound like 4 12 in a car and they are doing very good with the RT series and the RW very close to them there was another both CERWIN VEGA i was surprise no car audio display it was all Home Theater Systems and i also saw MTX big display on Home Theater Systems they did have a car audio section on the other side of the building not as big
it looks to me that it is true people don't have the money to speend on car audio before in the 80's early 90's the only junk brand was pyramid and boss now most of it is junk
soundstream is power acoustic
hifonics, rodek, ALPHASONIK they are now some junk made in korea
and the list is long i am sure you know where car audio is going
just my 2 cents"
haro_bikes1 replied: "Actually I'd disagree with the response from above...not exactly sure where he was going...I have never thought about it but they probably don't want to because as he said they tried it once but they probably realized it took way too much r&d and the money wasn't there and they'd rather spend their money in their bread and butter. If you consider the prices on home theater they don't have to fluctuate their prices at all. You either want their product and spend the money or don't go with the brand. Much like bose you can't get into a bose theater system unless you spend 500+ dollars on mostly just the speakers. You either want them and buy them or you don't there really is no deals or anything at all on bose systems. I did however just email them and asked them directly how come so as soon as they respond I'll answer your question! Not exactly sure why the previous person feels that kids these days don't have the money or are willing to spend top dollar on car audio? I see kids spend money right and left on car audio...heck they will skip rent, insurance, car payment and even owning a decent car to put some nice expensive car audio in a car. The klipsche line-up wouldn't be any more than a say cerwin vega set up in a car so I don't understand why he thinks kids in the 80's would spend more or less money than kids now would???? Not to mention things were cheaper back than anyways??? To me it makes no sense other than they don't want their quality to go down so they use all of their concentration on home audio only...although I'm a onkyo fan!
OK here's the email I got back....quick response for sure!
I’m willing to bet that there is a very good reason why we don’t do car audio. For the life of me, I cannot find a good reason. I think this will remain a mystery.
A good reason, in my own opinion, is that a company should do a few things really well rather than a lot of things only adequately well. So we stick with home theater and home stereo, where we can be one of the best… and stay out of other areas where we would just be another car audio company.
But I have no official reason I can relate to you. Sorry. But I do hope you enjoy our products in your home, where I think we are at our best.

I had a chance to really put some Klipsch to the test when I was in college. The auditorium wasn't as sound proof as the staff thought, he he he.
We use Klipsch in a lot of our installs in arenas and such."
